After 7 Years They're Calling It Quits
Terrence J And Rocsi of 106th & Park just announced that after 7 straight years that they will be leaving the show. The pair took over after the original hosts AJ & Free. Once AJ & Free were released B.E.T. tried out several hosts including Big Tigger, Julissa, even plus sized model Tocarra did a short stint on the show. The executives eventually settled on a new male/female team of Terrence & Rocsi. Since their start they've been able to consume several opportunities as a result. They both do radio shows, Rocsi's is syndicated, Terrence's is with Khloe Kardashian out of Miami. Terrence is seeing a lot of success with his role in "Think Like A Man" based off the book written by Steve Harvey. Terrence was quoted as saying "This, by no stretch of the imagination, was an easy decision, but it's the right one.". The question is now, what becomes of the only show left that plays music or music videos? Will B.E.T. continue with new hosts, guest hosts or shut the show down all together. Terrence and Rocsi will stay put for the time being to take a "victory lap" building up to their departure. This will be another end of an era. I just hope B.E.T. won't let the music die.

2 Chainz Arrested
Rapper 2 Chainz was arrested at LaGuardia airport this afternoon for misdemeanor possession of a weapon. He was accosted by TSA while going through the scanners for possessing brass knuckles. 2 Chainz was headed to North Carolina to do a show when the item was discovered in his carry-on luggage. He was being detained until they found out what they thought was a set brass knuckles turned out to be a four finger ring from the company Dope Couture. Dope Couture owner Matte Fields tweeted that he just spoke with 2 Chainz camp and the homie was released. Guess it was a good thing he wasn't wearing a hoodie too, it could have been tragic!

X Marks The Return
DMX is back with a vengance. His first offering was a dope track with MGK (Machine Gun Kelly) called I don't dance. The collabo was unexpected but definitely a hot track. X has been on Couples Therapy lately with his wife, Tasheera Simmons, trying to fix their dis-functional relationship. Meanwhile, he's been working on his upcoming album entitled "Undisputed" and trying to reclaim his seat at the top of the game. He's decided to release a mixtape prior to the album called "The Weigh-In". A dope title for the precursor to the album. His mixtape dropped today at 2p and here is the second offering called "Last Hope".

R.I.P. To Another Legend
Sad but true, we've lost another legend in the world of music. This one was a genius of a different kind. Adam Yauch aka MCA of the Beastie Boys died this morning (April 4th) from cancer of the Salivary Gland. Adam found out he had throat cancer in 2009. Since then he has been increasingly scarce from major events, tours etc. Even just a month ago the group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Adam was missing from the induction. Just the third rap group ever in history to make it into the H.O.F. it's unfortunate that MCA passed just a month after the ceremony. For once, an artist had a chance to be alive to see such an award. Yauch was only 47 years young and founded the group in high school in 1979 as a punk band. They eventually morphed into one of the most respected and loved groups period. He was a very talented artist and director often directing the groups videos under the alias Nathaniel Hornblower. His interest in video led to him starting his own production company, Oscilloscope Laboratories, and shooting several documentaries. He will be missed here but respected eternally. R.I.P. Adam Yauch.

So You Wanna Be A DJ
All of my constituents can attest that no matter where you spin, there's always someone who thinks they can do your job better than you. It never fails. What people don't understand is that there is so much that you have to consider when spinning. Even most DJ's don't get it. You must know what's hot, when to drop it, how to set it up and how to back it up. That's just the half of it. You also must know a wide variety of songs in multiple genres to appease the variety of tastes. Check out a promo video for a new DJ documentary that has been being filmed since October of 2010. The video talks about the influence the DJ has and continues to have on Hip Hop and all cultures. It's produced and directed by Mehka and is slated to be released this summer.
What The Havoc Is Going On?
For those who missed the strange but wildly entertaining twitter rant, let me fill you in. Havoc of Mobb Deep's twitter account went ham days ago calling his Mobb Deep partner Prodigy, gay. Hav challenged Prodigy to call him. He tried to force P to speak but there was no response. As the silence grew, so did Hav's anger. He unleashed a barrage of insulting tweets that sounded like the two were sworn enemies. Peter Rosenburg and Cipha Sounds on Hot 97's morning show tried to contact Havoc and get him on the show. Somehow Havoc was not available to be on the show but Prodigy was. Check out the interview.
America's Oldest Teenager Has Passed
The legendary TV/Radio host Mr. Dick Clark has passed away on the morning of April 18th of a "massive heart attack". He was known as "America's Oldest Teenager" because he was up on all of the current styles of popular music and he never seemed to age. However, Dick Clark was 82 when he passed away. He's been responsible for launching many careers over the years. He started off at Syracuse University working at a country station and going by the name Dick Clay. He would eventually move to another station in Philly where he began hosting a show called "Bandstand". The show was picked up by ABC in 1957 and ran until 1987. He then launched a syndicated radio show under his own company name United Stations Radio Network (aka UNISTAR) that he eventually sold to Westwood One in 1994. A year later he started a new network and a new countdown show that he hosted until 2004 when he suffered a serious heart attack that kept him form hosting his New Years Rockin Eve ever since. Mr. Clark is survived by his wife Kari and three children Rac, Duane and Cindy. From all of us in radio, thank Mr. Clark for showing us how to do it right. Job well done, now rest in peace.

Damn Kobe It Was All Good Just A Week Ago
Ok, maybe it was two months ago but it wasn't that long ago. Kobe and wife Vanessa were reportedly out at an LA Kings game with their kids when something reminded Vanessa of why she left Kobe in the first place. TMZ obtained a photo of an irate Vanessa with her arms crossed, body turned away from Kobe and plenty of attitude. The body language says it all!!!
Now just back on Valentines Day, the two were pictured kissing after a Lakers game. Rumors were floating that they were working on their relationship and possibly not going to divorce.
Guess that didn't last long. It was all good just a week ago!
Kanye Needs A Better Remedy
It seems Theraflu was the cause and cure no more. After Ye' dropped the dope track "Theraflu" a few weeks ago, the company Theraflu didn't take too kindly of the use of their name. What's funny is that as controversial as Kanye can be he never said anything derogatory about "Theraflu". The track was dope and quite humorous for slick lyrical delivery. It was creating controversy for the comments about respecting Wiz and getting Jay to drop Kris Humphries from the Nets. If anything, Theraflu sales might have gone up considerably just for the name being mentioned all over hip hop and the world. Hell it was a big topic of conversation on Kathy Lee and Hoda. Don't get it twisted, my girl watches that (LMBAO). Right now Theraflu looks like the Therafool. Meanwhile, Kanye West is enjoying the extra publicity while thinking of a new title before he releases it.
Pac and Nate Dogg Are Alive!
This past weekend was the big Coachella concert weekend with some of today's biggest and brightest names in music. However, none bigger than Snoop, Dr. Dre, Nate Dogg and Tupac. The west rides again as Dr. Dre brought back to life live performances of Pac and Nate Dogg. It was the most amazing thing you've ever seen. For a moment in time, we were given back our fallen soldiers and reminded why it is they are legendary. Even Tupac's mother Ms. Afeni Shakur said it was unbelievable. Both Pac and Nate Dogg were performing as holograms and it really felt like they were there in the flesh. It's not the first time it has happened but it's the first for hip hop. TMZ has provided us with a video of the Snoop and Tupac performance.
Now can we get a Run D.M.C. reunion tour?

The Unstoppable West, Kanye West
Regardless of what he may say that keeps him in hot water, he is making some ridiculous moves in the entertainment industry. Ye is fresh off The Throne album/tour and is already neck deep in other moves and projects. First, there are rumors that he and Hov are recording for The Throne 2 already to be released by years end. Meanwhile, he is working his new clothing line, running his G.O.O.D. Music label, prepping the compilation that is to be released any day. In the process, he makes some of the biggest signings to his label. He has signed Mos Def and now Q-Tip. This is amazing that Ye' could sign these artists. G.O.O.D Music could have just edged out YMCMB. Q-Tip says he's excited to join the team and be reconnected with Barry Weiss of Island/Def Jam. Tip also says he is planning on be very cutting edge with his music. His next album (and his 4th solo album) will be called "The Last Zulu". No announcement on a release date yet but please believe this will be an amazing album and moment in hip hop. Get ya money ready and buy the physical album...STOP PLAYIN!!!

Young Buck Bankrupt
We’ve all heard some of the stories about Young Bucks legal problems. In a recent interview with Whoo Kid he admitted that he would be up for reuniting with G-Unit. This came as a shock somewhat. I say somewhat because whenever any entertainer has legal issues or faces going broke they have the “I found religion experience”. Well Buck didn’t find God but he is seeing the light. He says he’s in negotiations right now with 50 Cent about working together again. Buck was kicked out of G-Unit in 2008 but remained in debt to the label which he refused to record for. He started Cashville Records but was hit with a $10 Million lawsuit by 50 Cent for breach of contract by releasing material on another label. Young Buck was forced to file for bankruptcy 2 years ago when he racked up $300,000 in IRS debt. On May 14th, the IRS will liquidate all of Young Bucks music, trademarks, copyrights, licenses and royalties. So you can a piece of Young Buck’s business. That’s the true meaning of “passing the Buck”.

Hooooold Up Naturi Is A What???
Some of you may remember Naturi Naughton. She's was the innocent looking girl from East Orange, New Jersey and 1/3 of 3LW. Then there was a rift in the group and 3LW was no longer. In fact, two of the members went on to become new members of the Cheetah Girls without Naturi. Most wondered what happened. Some speculated that Naturi was young, nasty and just too inappropriate. She was M.I.A. for several years until she re-emerged as Lil Kim in the movie Notorious. After seeing her performance in that movie we understand why she was kicked out of 3LW. She recently returned in the one weak...oops, I meant one week TV series The Playboy Club. That has been dubbed as the shortest running TV series in history, yes it was that bad. Now Naughty Naturi rebounds with a role on another TV series called "The Client List". It was a movie starring Jennifer Love Hewitt who consequently is starring in the small screen version as well. The show is about a Spa called "The Rub" that gives EXTRA SERVICES (happy endings)! Naturi Naughton plays one of the spa girls (code for hoes). She also makes claims that she wants to get back to music and plans to start recording during the off season.

Nasty Nas must not be a problem for the NFL. The league will be holding the NFL draft at the Radio City Music Hall in midtown NY,NY April 26-28th.
