Rude Or Misconstrued?
Filmmaker Mario Van Peeples has a new film coming out called "Things Fall Apart" starring some heavyweights like 50 Cent, Lynn Whitfield, Ray Liotta and Kel Mithcell (of Keenan and Kel fame). The movie is about a young rising football star that plans to go pro but his career is halted when he finds out he has cancer. The film has been very successful at it's screenings but a comment made by the films director Mario Van Peeples has eye brows raised. Just before the Urban World Film Festival screening MVP says "there would be no men in dresses or wigs in his movie." Some took that as a shot at Tyler Perry. Do you think it was a real shot or people trying to fuel a fire. And why are some filmmakers hatin' on Tyler Perry? Is it because they weren't making that kind of paper? Or is it that they couldn't afford to buy out the Delta Center in Atlanta and create a black Hollywood first? Please don't drink the Haterade.
