A$AP Rocky Met The Man He Was Named After

A$AP Rocky is a hot new up and comer on the hip hop scene. He is a solo artist but he is part of a crew that is called ASAP (Always Strive and Prosper). His crew consists of not just rappers but managers, stylists, etc. Every person in the crews name starts with ASAP. It's like a family from China where their first name is their family name. They have other members that rap like ASAP Ferg, ASAP Twelvy & ASAP Pillz. While most names are street names, ASAP Rocky's name is short for his real name Rakim. ASAP Rocky's mom's is from Harlem and is a huge Rakim fan. She decided to name her son after "The God". He told the story on Angie Martinez's show and Angie Mar had a little something up her sleeve.
